Refund Policy

Effective date: 1 January 2025

1. General Position

TMR Tokoza Boxing Academy (MR Academy of Excellence NPC, Reg: 2023/168883/08) operates on a no-refund basis for monthly membership fees once a billing period has commenced. We encourage all prospective members to review our programmes and membership tiers carefully before registering.

2. Exceptions — When Refunds May Be Granted

Refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis in the following circumstances:

  • Duplicate payment

    If a member is charged twice for the same billing period, the duplicate charge will be refunded in full within 7 business days.

  • Academy closure

    If the Academy closes permanently or ceases operations, pro-rata refunds for the unused portion of the current billing period will be issued.

  • Medical incapacity

    If a member suffers a serious injury or medical condition preventing participation, a pro-rata refund or credit may be granted upon submission of a medical certificate from a registered practitioner.

  • Payment made in error

    If a payment was made in error before the membership period began, a full refund will be processed within 7 business days.

3. Non-Refundable Items

  • Monthly membership fees for periods already commenced
  • Registration or administration fees
  • Fees for sessions attended
  • Fees for sessions missed or cancelled with less than 2 hours notice
  • Promotional or discounted membership fees

4. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, email info@tmracademy.co.za with the subject line "Refund Request — [Your Full Name]" and include:

  • Your full name and registration number
  • The amount paid and date of payment
  • The reason for the refund request
  • Supporting documentation where applicable (e.g. medical certificate, proof of duplicate payment)

We will respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method within 7 business days.

5. Tier 1 Community Access

Tier 1 (Community Access) memberships are subsidised and do not involve direct membership fees. Refund provisions do not apply to this tier.

6. Consumer Rights

This policy does not limit any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (South Africa). Where applicable legislation provides stronger protections, those protections apply.
